The “Zammour Trekking” event returns for a 4th edition from March 19 to 22, 2020 in Zammour (Béni Khedeche, Médenine).
Zammour Trekking is a cultural and sporting event launched in 2017 to promote Zammour, a Berber village perched on the DAHAR mountains and which has kept its authenticity over the decades.
In three years, the event, which has grown from 50 to 500 participants of Tunisian and foreign nationalities, won the Golden Jasmin of animation in the regions at the Tunisia Hospitality Award 2019 organized by TunisiaTourism and which rewards the excellence of the Tunisian tourism.
Indeed, Zammour is distinguished by the serenity of its places and the natural beauty of its ksours, oases, Berber ruins and other curiosities of the mountains which surround it. Zammour Trekking will continue to highlight these hidden treasures of the village from the start to the end of the event.
On arrival, participants will be greeted by the local folk troupe "El Janneda" (The old men of the village) with their traditional costumes (LAHFA, BARNOUS, MAGROUN, HOULI, BAKHNOUG ...).
For 4 days and 4 nights, visitors wander in the mountains during the day, and enjoy folklore evenings in the evening, around a campfire. Berber tents will be installed each evening forming a large "Douar" circle.
Authentic and acoustic music is one of the headlines of Z’ammour Trekking. The festival allows the world to access a legacy, old and unknown by combining the modernity of the technical means used (sound, light, stage management, logistics), with the cultural traditions of the populations of Zammour.
In addition, a craft fair that promotes local and territorial products from Zammour is set up for local artisans and those from neighboring villages.
In terms of sport, hiking circuits will be organized as well as Trek, Trail and mountain bike routes… (With several other outdoor sports activities) in breathtaking landscapes for lovers of speed and endurance.
